In theory, we should now be closer to the launch of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 than the release of the S3, which hit the international market a little over 7 months ago. The question however, is how much exactly will we have to wait before we’ll be able to see the Galaxy S4 in stores?
Well, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that the gadget will not be released within the first quarter of the year, but join us after the break if you want to find out what Samsung Lebanon had to say regarding the matter.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date
We’d all like to know what the SGS4 has in store for us and when we’ll get to buy one. Spec-wise the gadget seems to be one big step ahead of the competition, boasting (according to rumors) a 5-inch 1080p display, a 2 GHz quad-core CPU, 2 GB of RAM (although the amount of 3 GB has previously been hinted at) and a 13 MP camera on the back coupled with a 2 MP one on the front.
All those specs you see above have obviously not been confirmed but instead gathered from several leaks and sources.
As for when we’ll get to see it, well … chances are that the Galaxy S4 will first be showcased during the Mobile World Congress in February, but the actual release is still going to be months away, and at least according to Samsung Lebanon, the upcoming Samsung flagship phone will not be released before May 2013. If this turns out to be the case we’ll either have the opportunity to buy one at the end of May as we did with the international SGS3, or later on in the year.
Nonetheless, believe it or not, Samsung’s Facebook page is not always the most reliable source of information when it comes to these types of questions. That being said, there’s still a possibility (small as it is) that the Galaxy S4 could be released earlier than May. I personally wouldn’t hold my breath though.
In any case, this is a pretty huge release and considering the fact that Samsung has managed to sell over 30 million SGS3 units so far, I’m fairly sure that there is a lot of people out there eagerly waiting for the successor. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
Thanks Sam Mobile for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date.
