Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom To Join The Camera Phone Battle ?
There’s a lot of buzz going on right now in regards to the idea that, by the end of the year, smartphones will be more camera-centric than ever before. If not all of them, then at least some gadgets will be.
Digging through the rumors, the so called Nexus 5 might arrive featuring a Nikon-based shooter, Sony is allegedly working on a 20 MP smartphone which borrows tech from the Cyber-shot camera series, and the Nokia EOS / Lumia PureView continues to rear its head from time to time. Now, rumors have added a new gadget to this mix – the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom – Release Date and Specs (Rumors)
According to sources, Samsung is working on bringing its first camera phone to the market, dubbed the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Allegedly, this gadget will pack a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED display, 8 GB of storage expandable by up to 64 GB via microSD slot (in true Samsung fashion), and Android 4.x Jelly Bean with the TouchWiz Nature UX on top.
Supposedly, the gadget will feature the same 16 MP sensor used in the Samsung Galaxy Camera, so if this gadget turns out to be real then we might see other Galaxy Camera features ported to the Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Unfortunately, so far it’s unknown whether or not the device will feature a dual-core or a quad-core (or even octa-core) processor, but based on the rest of hardware specs, this isn’t really a high-end flagship so the Exynos 5 Octa is pretty much out of the question.
Availability wise, the handset might go on sale in June or July, when it will hit the shelves in two flavors: black and white.
Would anyone be interested in this particular device? What would you want it to deliver in order to catch your interest, if it hasn’t done so already?
