The arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Verizon’s stores is pretty much certain, and if common sense wasn’t enough to suspect as much shortly after the SGS5 became official, then the handset’s visit to the FCC (boasting compatibility with Big Red’s LTE network) has pretty much sealed the deal.
Nevertheless, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is scheduled, in numerous countries, for April 11, US carriers haven’t made any official announcements regarding the matter just yet. More so, mobile operators in the States have a tendency of launching smartphones a bit later than the International market, and with Verizon the situation is even fuzzier.
However, thanks to some recent developments that took place further up north from the States, we might now be able to predict the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date at Verizon.
Samsung Galaxy S5 at Verizon: Release Date?
In case you were not aware of this, Samsung has recently announced that its upcoming flagship phone will hit the Canadian market on April 11, through numerous carriers including Rogers, TELUS, SaskTel and the list goes on (and on).
The big deal is that, launch dates in Canada oftentimes match release dates in the US, and with such an iconic device like the Galaxy S5, it would be quite odd for the smartphone in question to not hit the US market on April 11 as well.
In other words, chances are that Verizon is going to release the Galaxy S5 at the same time with the rest of the world, and perhaps the fact that the carrier continues to push promotional material on its website also confirms this theory.
For those of you who have somehow missed these details, the SGS5 packs a 5.1 inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics chip, 2 GB of Ram, 16 or 32 GB of storage expandable by 128 GB via microSD, and a 16 MP ISOCELL camera.
In the handset’s list of attractive features reside Ultra Battery Saving Mode, a fingerprint scanner, a heart rate sensor and Download Booster – the feature that Verizon might actually dislike.
