Lately, there’s been a relatively large number of reports flying around, regarding the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S7. This week the smartphone – or at least an early prototype – was spotted in a couple of benchmarks, so needless to say there’s a lot of buzz at the moment concerning what the foreseeable future might have in store for Samsung and fans of the brand.
Sources from Korea also seem to be somewhat familiar with the company’s plans, and not long ago the Korean media reported on some of the Galaxy S7’s alleged hardware characteristics, including the display and the camera setup. For the full story, keep on scrolling and join us below.
Samsung Galaxy S7 – More Rumors Emerge
A couple of days ago the Korean media discussed the market performance of Samsung’s latest flagship phones, namely the Note 5 and the S6 Edge Plus. They revealed that out of the two smartphones, the Note 5 is the one that’s been enjoying higher sales numbers, despite the fact that the Galaxy S6 Edge released in the first half of the year was more sought after than the “flat” Galaxy S6.
The same Korean publication added that, next year, the company will adopt a different approach for the Galaxy S7. First of all, the smartphone will allegedly be released with a much larger 5.7-inch display in tow (up from 5.1 inches). Secondly, the S7 will reportedly make use of a dual-camera setup – a concept that seemed to have died off after HTC’s final attempt to push it into the mainstream via the HTC One M8. What we must keep in mind is that this rumor originates before the Antutu benchmark that showed a Galaxy S7 with a 5.7-inch display, so we’re probably on to something here.
Furthermore, sources “confirm” that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be released in two hardware configurations, one powered by the Snapdragon 820, and the other one by the fabled Exynos M1 SoC. However, according to this report, the ratio between the two models will strongly favor the Exynos M1 variant, which will allegedly receive the lion’s share.
Last but not least, the original report speaks of the possibility that Sammy is “most likely” to announce the Galaxy S7 earlier than usual; or as soon as late-February to be precise.
As usual, treat the rumors accordingly and stay tuned for more.
