Do you remember that time when Samsung finally launched the Ice Cream Sandwich update on the Galaxy S2, at the beginning of May? Well, if so, you might also be aware of the fact that, at that point in time, the manufacturer made a statement concerning the fact that they plan on launching their updates in a timely manner in the future, that they’ll communicate better with their customers and that they intend to get better at deploying updates and keeping everyone under the loop.
After the SGS2 got its Android 4 update, the manufacturer also mentioned that the Galaxy Tab series (10.1, 8.9, 7.7 and 7.0 Plus) will follow in Galaxy S2′s footsteps and they will get the highly anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich update shortly after the SGS2.
I’m sorry to say this Samsung, but judging by how things evolved in the past few months, not much has changed and things are still moving slowly as ever. That being said, join us after the break and learn when exactly you’ll be able to get your Galaxy Tab updated to ICS.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (10.1, 8.9, 7.7, 7.0 Plus) Ice Cream Sandwich Release Date: July/August (Android 4 ICS)
Samsung Galaxy Tab (10.1, 8.9, 7.7, 7.0 Plus) Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4 ICS)
According to latest reports, Samsung is planning on deploying Android 4 on the Galaxy Tab series during the July-August timeslot. Apparently, some tablets will get it in July while others will definitely get it in August. Considering the fact that there are quite a few tablets we’re talking about, we’re not sure which one will be next in line. It’s nothing certain so it’s better if you don’t get your hopes up and instead expect the update to hit the waves on August.
But, as a side note, recently we’ve reported that Telus has updated their list of scheduled ICS roll-outs and, at least on their network, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is set for late July, whereas the Tab 8.9 is set for August. Now, I’m just speculating but the same pattern might apply outside of Canada as well. If so, I find it rather amusing how Telus manages to keep everyone better informed than the manufacturer itself.
And that concludes the story so far. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more regarding the matter, so stay tuned.
Thanks PocketNow for the heads-up regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab (10.1, 8.9, 7.7, 7.0 Plus) Ice Cream Sandwich Release Date.
