Despite the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro line-up is very fresh, the company seems to intend on launching yet another series of slates, dubbed the “Tab S”. The S line-up is expected to make an appearance on stage in New York on June 12, during the upcoming “Galaxy Premiere” event. Until then, leaks and rumors surrounding the Tab S seem to keep on floating around the mobile blogosphere, giving us hint after hint on what we can expect from these tablets.
The latest bits of the puzzle come today from AnTuTu Benchmark’s database, where the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has made a new appearance, bringing some of its hardware specs along for the ride.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Specs Listend on AnTuTu
As you might’ve already noticed, assuming of course that you’ve kept your eyes on any Tab S-related reports during these past several weeks, some of the hardware specifications listed in AnTuTu have been discussed over before, but it’s nice to have “confirmation” from the said source.
As such, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 appears to feature an 8.4 inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 SoC with frequencies of up to 1.9 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and an 8 MP + 2 MP camera combo. The device runs on Android 4.4.2, and appears to be capable of scoring 35,713 points in AnTuTu.
In case you were not aware of this, we should also mention that one of the main features differentiating the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 from the 8.4 incher in the “Tab Pro” line-up, is the fact that the Tab S comes with a Super AMOLED display instead of an LCD panel. Back in November 2013, we’ve come across new (at that time) information suggesting that Samsung will focus on releasing more AMOLED tablets in 2014, and by the looks of it, the Korean tech giant is working exactly on that.
Are any of our readers excited about the Tab S 8.4? Is anyone planning on buying the slate once it goes on sale? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
