Samsung to Release a Handful of Smartphones in the First Quarter of 2014
According to the sources, Samsung will start launching new devices as early as January 2014. The first candidate is the Galaxy Grand 2, which will supposedly go on sale in the first month of the year – at least in Korea. Next up, Samsung is expected to be present at the Mobile World Congress, where the Galaxy Note 3 Lite will allegedly be showcased. For those of you who don’t know, the Note 3 Lite is supposed to be a toned-down version of the full-fledged phablet, boasting a downgraded 8 MP camera, an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED , and either a 5.49 or 5.7 inch display.
The Note 3 is expected to hit the market in February, shortly after the MWC (February 24-27), or in March.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has been mentioned by the sources as well, and it appears that the next flagship in the Galaxy S series might actually go on sale in the first quarter of the year, just as the previous reports have suggested. The S5 will allegedly hit the market by the end of March.
The source doesn’t mention what other device(s) are going to be released aside from the Grand 2, the Note 3 Lite and the SGS5, but it’s / they’re most likely going to fit the entry / mid-range market segment.
