In case you’ve followed us for the past several weeks then you might be aware of the fact that we’ve been quite impressed by the Sony Xperia Z1 f, also known as the Xperia Z1 Mini. The aforementioned device has been recently unveiled in Japan via NTT Docomo, and based on early hands-on videos and benchmark tests, this particular handset is quite a powerful beast.
What makes this gadget special is the fact that even though it arrives with top-tier hardware specifications, everything is bundled up in a compact shell that delivers a 4.3 inch display. Needless to say, we’re eagerly waiting for the gadget’s arrival on the international market, and judging by the latest happenings, we shouldn’t wait for too long before our patience will be rewarded. More details after the break.
Sony Xperia Z1S Pops-Up on the Sony Official Website
Shortly after the Xperia Z1 f went live in Japan, rumors have started popping-up, indicating that the international model will bear the “Xperia Z1S” moniker, as opposed to “Xperia Z1 Mini”. While the Z1S name tag has not been officially confirmed by Sony, the handset in question has recently popped-up on the official, Chinese Sony website (image above).
While the images have been pulled from the website in the meantime, this “official” leak reveals that: 1. the Xperia Z1 f will most likely bear the Z1S moniker on the international market, and 2. the launch of the device outside of Japan is approaching fast. This leak also goes hand-in-hand with previous reports suggesting that the handset will be unveiled during an event in Shanghai, on November 12.
What makes us feel rather uneasy is the thought that this particular leak might not have anything to do with an international launch, in the true sense of the word. Could the Xperia Z1S be a Chinese exclusive handset? We sure hope not, but we’ll have to wait and see. Stick around and we’ll keep you posted.
