There have been very few devices which have gotten as much hype as the upcoming Apple iPhone 5. Then again, Android smartphones are coming out in greater numbers and even within the same lineup, we get more devices per year than with the Apple alternative. After a recent rumor according to which Sprint might be offering unlimited data-traffic for the iPhone 5, we have more leaks that point towards the arrival of the device on the network.
We’ve already talked about the possibility of the iPhone 5 release date to be scheduled sometime during October (one rumor even hinted towards Ocotber 21st). The latest rumor regarding the iPhone 5 release date comes from an inside memo leaked from within Sprint. It seems that the carrier has set up the first two weeks of October on a no-vacations-allowed blackout list. The reason which was given, was that there is the possibility of a major phone launch, so the only conclusion we might get is that we’re talking about the Apple iPhone 5 release date. Seeing as the Google Nexus Prime (or Samsung Galaxy Prime) release date is rumored to also be scheduled during October, the iPhone 5 needs to be a heavy hitter in order to stand a chance against Google’s powerhouse.
Sprint Memo Hinting A Mid October iPhone 5 Release Date
After a few rumors and leaks according to which Sprint would indeed be the carrier to get the device first on their lineup in October, this latest leak might narrow down the possible release dates for the iPhone 5 on Sprint. Seeing as the first two weeks are right out of the game, the company might schedule the launch of the device towards the beginning of the month, as it would be rather pointless to keep all staff on deck and prepare for a October 15th launch date of the iPhone 5.
No matter what the case is, even if half the rumors and leaks might turn out not to be true, the evidence is either way piling up and points menacingly towards Sprint and October.
