Lately the Samsung Galaxy Note managed to stay under our spotlight mainly due to its Ice Cream Sandwich update which continues to roll out worldwide, despite the fact that the AT&T ICS launch still eludes us.
However, this time we’re not going to talk about the Android 4 update, and instead we’re going to re-open the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy note subject.
Samsung Galaxy Note Release Date at T-Mobile
As we’ve reported earlier, the reason why the Galaxy Note is not available for purchase from other US carriers besides AT&T is that the latter has a limited exclusivity over the handset in US, exclusivity which will end by the beginning of June. The fact that the exclusivity is about to end led to a few rumors indicating that both Sprint and T-Mobile might also take an interest in launching their own Galaxy Note variant. However, unlike the purported Sprint variant (of which we haven’t heard anything pretty much since the subject came up) the T-Mobile version appeared on the radar a few times in the past, first time as model number SGH-T879, and then via a leaked User Agent String.
Now, new information indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note is indeed heading towards T-Mobile, and most importantly we could have an exact release date. Join us after the break for more.
According to the guys over at TmoNews and their sources, the Samsung Galaxy Note should hit the T-Mobile stores on July 11th, the same date on which the Ceramic White Galaxy S3 variant should be available for purchase via the same carrier.
Needless to say, we’re quite excited about the possibility that Samsung’s phablet could get a T-Mobile launch mid-summer, but keep in mind that although TmoNews managed to provide reliable information in the past, this is still nothing official so take this rumor with a grain of salt, as things are subject to change.
Nevertheless, it seems that things are moving in the right direction and even if July 11th is not the big day on which the Samsung Galaxy Note arrives at T-Mobile, there’s almost no doubt that the handset in question will get a T-Mobile launch this summer.
As far as pricing goes, unfortunately no information has surfaced just yet. As for the Android 4, judging by the previously leaked shots, the T-Mobile Note should come preloaded with Ice Cream Sandwich.
We hope to get our hands on the phablet sooner rather than later, and we’ll definitely going to keep you posted as soon as the story develops.
Thanks TmoNews for the heads-up regarding the rumored T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note release date.
