You may recall that about a week ago, after the UK owners got their hands on the Android 4 update for the Galaxy S2, we’ve reported that Ice Cream Sandwich finally landed on the handset in the US as well, at least on the unlocked versions of the device.
Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich at T-Mobile (Android 4 ICS)
Now that the unlocked S2 has received its well-deserved Android 4 update, we turn our attention towards the carrier variants trying to figure out when exactly will the update be made available on other Galaxy S2s.
As it turns out, the latest rumor indicates that T-Mobile’s Galaxy S2 might get the Ice Cream Sandwich in a matter of weeks. Join us after the break.
According to TmoNews, the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S2 might get released starting with the 14th of May. Unfortunately, neither T-Mobile nor Samsung confirmed anything of the sort, but the idea of getting the ICS update on T-Mobile’s S2 in two weeks brings a wide smile on our faces.
I suppose we’ll have to see how the story develops. We’re bound to hear more on the matter in the following days, if indeed T-Mobile intends on launching the update mid-May.
We’ll keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
Thanks TmoNews for the heads-up regarding the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich mid May release date.
