At the end of June we’ve reported that the highly anticipated Toshiba Thrive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update has been pushed back by a whole lot, until fall this year to be more precise. This piece of news came as quite the disappointment considering the fact that initially the update was expected to hit the waves during the March-May timeslot.
Toshiba Thrive Ice Cream Sandwich
Despite this entire troublesome story it appears that those who own the Toshiba Thrive are in for a treat because the controversial Android iteration is actually hitting the waves even as we speak.
Once again Toshiba has not kept their word in terms of launching Ice Cream Sandwich when everyone expected, but this time however, things are for the best because, after we’ve heard that Android 4.0 will actually be delayed until fall, being able to update the Thrive (AT100) right now feels like a breath of fresh air.
Some of the most notable changes brought by Android 4.0.4 include improvements in audio performance, camera functions, and signal strength and connectivity.
That pretty much sums it all up for the 10 inch Toshiba Thrive, but as far as the 7 inch tablet we’re still shooting in the dark as no report of Android 4.0.4 on the smaller variant has surfaced thus far.
Nevertheless, we’re definitely going to keep our eyes on the Toshiba tablets and keep you up to speed as soon as the story develops. In the meantime, let us know whether or not you’ve received the update notification on the 10 incher.
Thanks Android Central for the heads-up regarding the Toshiba Thrive Ice Cream Sandwich update.
