[UPDATED] Unpacked 2011 = (Droid Prime) Google Nexus Prime Release Date ?

[UPDATE] Bad news – Samsung and Google have announced that the “Unpacked” event has been postponed with no new date in sight. The reason ? Google and Samsung didn’t think it was the “right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing“.

In the past few weeks we have been bringing you leaks and rumors surrounding the Google Nexus Prime (also referred to as the Droid Prime), but none of those gave us any real information surrounding the release date of the upcoming Google Nexus device. We had some rumors surrounding the technical specifications of the Google Nexus Prime (QWERTY keyboard ?) and a few leaks left and right suggesting the release date or the networks on which we would be seeing the device, yet there was no word from Samsung or Google.

Until now we’ve seen the Google Nexus Prime release date revealed via a pretty clever riddle or being told in a very noir-like detective story…sadly, nothing official though. However, it seems that the veil will finally be lifted.

(Droid Prime) Google Nexus Prime Release Date

It seems like the 11th of October is the date on which Samsung will be announcing the upcoming Nexus Prime device at their Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 convention. The event might be the one in which Samsung announces the release date and availability of the Google Nexus Prime seeing as the event is name “Google Episode”. Samsung’s Google Edition Unpacked event is scheduled to take place during the same time as the CTIA in San Diego, so if you got an invite and are lurking around the area, you might want to drop in and be amongst the lucky few humans to witness the awesomeness that is the Google Nexus Prime.

Or at least, that’s what I am hoping for, seeing as the device had almost the same hype behind it as the iPhone 5. In any case this latest news surrounding the Nexus Prime means that we will know more for sure by the 11th of October and then we might get some solid specs as well as the release date and availability for the device.
