Assuming that you’re somewhat familiar with what happened on the mobile market during these past several months, then you should be aware of the fact that the concept of dust and waterproof smartphones has gained a lot of grip lately. We’re not talking about those bulky smartphones which are designed specifically to take a beating and survive the North Pole. Nope, we’re referring to slim, beautiful gadgets that can still survive a shower or a quick swim in the ocean, such as the Xperia Z / Z1 or the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

The Galaxy S4 Active has been quite a success, and interestingly enough, fresh reports coming straight from the Korean media suggest that the manufacturer is considering the possibility of delivering more ruggedized flagship devices in the future, including a Note 3 waterproof variant.

Waterproof Samsung Galaxy Note 3 On Its Way?

The Korean media has started buzzing with bits of information concerning a waterproof Note 3 variant. Apparently, the SGS4 Active has been more successful than Samsung would’ve thought, and as such, the Korean giant is definitely considering the possibility of building a Note 3 “Active”.


More so, the source also suggests that Samsung might start focusing even more on delivering water and dust proof handsets, and that the Galaxy S5 might be such a beast by default.

Allegedly, Samsung is also working on improving and / or modifying various [technical] aspects pertaining to its supply chain, in order to be able and build future dust/waterproof smartphones with more ease.

All in all, if all of these reports turn out to be true, we might see a massive shift, as the term “ruggedized” will become the standard. Until more details are going to surface, let us know whether or not you fancy the idea of a Note 3 Active.
