Currently, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the Xiaomi Mi5 and, in fact, it was just a few hours ago when the aforementioned smartphone made it in our headlines on account of a couple of new leaks. Now the same terminal makes a U-turn and returns at the top of our front page thanks to – you guessed it – a new leak.
The images you are about to see below have been shared by sources in China, and reportedly, they showcase the fabled Xiaomi Mi5. Oddly enough, however, the terminal depicted in these two new hands-on pictures departs from the idea that the handset will adopt a “glass sandwich” build, and flaunts a metal back panel instead.
You’ll find the rest of the details right after the break.

New Xiaomi Mi5 Leaked Pictures Emerge?
The images above and below offer a clear view on the alleged Xiaomi Mi5, which, according to this new leak, boasts a full metal build as opposed to flaunting a glass-oriented design. The metal back panel accommodates a camera and a flash, a fingerprint sensor, as well as an autofocus laser unit.
The handset appears to feature a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top, and a speaker grille along with a USB connector at the bottom.
However, unlike the smartphone showcased in the renders / live images so far, the model at hand doesn’t seem to feature a metal frame segmented by antenna bands.
Needless to say and despite all the leaks so far, the Xiaomi Mi5’s design still eludes us, so whether the smartphone will offer a full metal build or a glass-covered back panel remains uncertain.
With that being said, we’ll continue to keep an eye out on the matter and share any relevant information we might come across.
In the meantime, feel free to let us know which approach you would rather prefer: a full metal build, or one flaunting 2.5D and 3D glass?
