ZTE has been quite a busy bee lately, as it hasn’t only launched the Nubia Z5 in the States a while ago, but the company also announced two new smartphones earlier today – the Nubia Z5S and the Nubia Z5S Mini. But that’s not all. There have been some rumors concerning a so-called ZTE Nubia Z7 phablet as well, and as the title above suggests, today’s bit of interesting news revolves around this particular handset.
In a nutshell, we’ve stumbled across new pieces of the Z7 puzzle, including the image embedded below and a list of hardware specifications that will probably knock your socks off.
Needless to say, this handset is larger than anticipated, and it shapes up to be a true Sony Xperia Z Ultra challenger. More details after the break.
ZTE Nubia Z7 Gets Caught on Camera
The handset you see in the image above is allegedly the ZTE Nubia Z7, a ginormous phablet that seems to aim directly at the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The handset in question supposedly features a 6.44 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 3 GB of RAM, a 13 MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 4G LTE connectivity.
That’s not all there is to it though, and the list of specs gets really impressive from here on out. Apparently, the Nubia Z7 packs the Snapdragon 800 “8974AB” processor which is a beefier variant of the regular SD 800. It’s being clocked at 2.3 GHz, the Adreno 330 GPU is overclocked at 550 MHz as opposed to 450 MHz, and the memory is also clocked at 933 MHz. Basically, it’s the Snapdragon chip that is being used in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE and the Xiaomi Mi3.
Aside from the SoC, the handset allegedly packs 128 GB of storage and runs on a custom ROM based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
All in all, if this leak turns out to be true, than the ZTE Nubia Z7 is shaping up to be quite a powerful, ginormous beast. Any thoughts?
