Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 – Release Date and Gameplay Trailer

by Vlad Andrici on December 1, 2010

EA and DICE have announced ( along with the Bad Company 2: Vietnam Release Date ) that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 release date is, well…today, and in order to celebrate they launched a VIP Map Pack 7 Gameplay Trailer.

For those of you that didn’t know, the Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 is the first such pack that actually brings new content to the game ( as opposed to simply remixing existing game-modes and maps ).

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 brings 4 new maps to the game’s multiplayer – two remakes of Bad Company 1 fan favorite maps ( Oasis and Harvest Day ) and two maps inspired from the singleplayer campaign ( Cold War and Heavy Metal ).

The Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 will be available for free for all PC and console VIP players.

  • Harvest Day – hugely popular in the first Bad Company game, Harvest Day was loved by fans for the high number of vehicles available and its alternative play styles, and the remastered version ( Harvest Day 2.0 ) is no different – Heavy Tanks, CAV’s and Quad Bikes are available so players can get around this pretty big map.

Harvest Day supports all the gameplay modes but DICE says that it has been designed primarily for Conquest.

  • Oasis – dubbed by the recently released Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7 Gameplay Trailer as “The #1 Battlefield: Bad Company Fan Favorite Map“, Oasis will welcome returning players with new and optimized BC2 assets, fully destructive environment ( in BC 1 the destruction was only partial ), new weather effects, and other minor changes. Just like harvest Day, Oasis supports all Bad Company 2′s multiplayer game-modes.
  • Heavy Metal – inspired by the singleplayer campaign, this map was born from the devs desire to create a level that could offer both vehicle warfare and close quarter battles. Even bigger that Atacama Desert, Heavy Metal is intended primarily for the Conquest game-mode, although the map will also support “Squad Deathmatch“.
  • Cold War – unlike the other singleplayer inspired map ( Heavy Metal ), Cold War is focused on close quarter skirmishes on the narrow alleyways of a small Russian village located up in the snowy mountains.
