Gran Turismo 5 Gameplay – Driving In The Rain Never Looked So Good

by Andrew on November 23, 2010

While you’re anxiously waiting for tomorrow’s official release date, all you racing games aficionados can feast your eyes on some awesome Gran Turismo 5 gameplay videos.

It seems that Polyphony Digital has a hit on their hands, after-all the game has taken five years to complete ( some 27 months longer than initially anticipated ) and cost around £38m to develop.

The Gran Turismo 5 release date is November 24th in North America and Europe, and November 25th in Japan and Australia.

The first one shows the Pagani Zonda speeding on a GT5: Prologue track, while raining. The graphic effects are something else, just pay attention on how the rain splashes the windshield, each time in a different manner, influenced by turns, brakes and acceleration. Poor visibility ( cuz’ of the rain and of that damn windscreen wiper ), high speed, great engine noise make this Gran Turismo 5 gameplay video a real treat to watch. So, let’s see the first video and as a word of advice: watch it in HD.

Now the second video features the Infinity G37 Nissan being drove on the streets of London. The video has two parts, the actual race and the replay, both showing some nice graphic effects like tyre smoke ( in the first part ) and car detail ( in the second ).

Even if the Gran Turismo 5 release date is officially tomorrow,  the game has been in retailers’ stock for some time now and a few copies have already found their owners. Thanks to these guys we are able to see this next Gran Turismo 5 gameplay video.

Here are some facts about the game:

  • Over 1,000 in-game cars
  • More than 20 tracks with over 70 variations
  • Online play up to 16 players
  • A dynamic weather system
  • An all-new Course Maker
  • Car damage
  • NASCAR and Karting

Gran Turismo 5 will be available only on PlayStation 3, so all of you lucky owners of a PS3 try and get the game because, if these GT 5 gameplay videos are any indication, you’ll have a blast

Thanks CVG for letting us know about the Gran Turismo 5 Gameplay videos.

The one Track I would love to see is Pikes Peak Hill Climb. PPHC has 156 Corners 12 miles Long. Like the Nürburgring Nordschleife (The Ring). The Ring having 173 Corners 13 miles long. Both are the most challenging tracks out there in the Race World. Aside from Rally tracks. If GT5 doesn’t have Pikes Peak Hill Climb, I know that Dirt has it. Can’t wait Today I will get GT5, Thanks for the Heads up on the review
