As I’m sure most of you know, the Need for Speed series will continue with new hot cars and “crazy-fast chases” all combined in a new breath-taking game: The Run. The game is in production at EA Black Box, the developers responsible for a lot of games in the series ( Underground 1 & 2, Most Wanted, Undercover, Carbon and so on ). As they state, their main purpose is to improve the visual quality of the game so that it won’t be matched by any other on the market. The guys at Black Box are hoping to accomplish this with the help of the Frostbite 2.0 engine.
The Need for Speed: The Run release date is scheduled for the end of November, and the game will be available, as usual, for all the important platforms (even 3DS).
Regarding the story, it sounds pretty exciting, and if the visuals will be as the developers are bragging, I’m sure that it will be hard for many of us racing-game addicts to unglue ourselves from the screen. The Run features the beloved Autolog feature, also met in Hot Pursuit and Shift 2.
There are a lot of mysteries EA is not ready yet to reveal, but in the meantime, you can check out this awesome “Death from Above” trailer with several seconds of gameplay footage that seem to put the importance of helicopters in a different light:
