Plants vs Zombies 2 Release Date: What You Should Know
Are you a fan of tower defense games, but got a little tired of Plants vs Zombies and were anxiously waiting for its PopCap developed sequel that was announced a couple of months ago? Well, don’t hold your breath, as according to the latest reports we still have some waiting to do before we can play it.
Officially scheduled to launch on July 18th, it now looks like the long-awaited Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time sequel has hit a wall-nut and is going to take a little longer than initially anticipated to be ready for the masses. More details below.
Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time – Release Date Rescheduled
The news regarding the game’s delay comes from the official Plants vs Zombies Twitter page, where PopCap (the developer of PvZ) announced that the game has been postponed until “later this summer”.
While the exact reasons for the release date pushback remain unknown, the Seattle-based studio announced that it wants to make sure Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time is “up to the fan’s standards and expectations” once it gets launched.
Moreover, according to the follow-up tweets, PvZ 2 will be first released on the iOS platform, which doesn’t come as a surprise since the game was originally announced for Apple’s products. Of course, Plants vs Zombies 2 will later on be made available on other platforms as well (Android included).
Unlike the first Plants vs Zombies that can be downloaded and purchased from the App Store for $0.99, the sequel is going to be free-to-play, and like the official title might suggest (“It’s About Time”), aside from the same line defense gameplay we’re already familiar with, PvZ 2 also includes time travel to brand new locations.
We’ll keep you in the loop as soon as we find out anything new about the Plants vs Zombies 2 release date, but in the meantime, let’s have a look at the game’s official trailer:
