HTC Teases “What’s Next After A9?” – 13MP Camera, OIS, RAW Support

Although the HTC One A9 is only a mid-range smartphone, the terminal seems to be the new starting point for the next generation of HTC devices. The handset’s fresh design language will be adopted by other models (even premium ones), and we’ve already witnessed this phenomenon in several leaked photos depicting the alleged HTC One X9.

Speaking of unannounced HTC smartphones, earlier today, the Taiwanese manufacturer started hyping up “what’s next after A9” through a new teaser image, confirming that the next model will boast features like OIS and RAW format support.

HTC Teases Its Next Release

Although HTC didn’t outright reveal the name of the upcoming smartphone planned to be introduced next after the A9, the recently leaked HTC One X9 should be a pretty safe bet.

However, judging by all the leaks so far, the HTC One X9 is not a premium device. It allegedly packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, an octa-core 2.2 GHz CPU, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD.

Recent leaks have shown that the handset should also make use of a 13 MP primary camera, which is likely the same unit teased today by HTC. Accordingly, the module will benefit from optical image stabilization and will support RAW format.

In other words, and assuming that HTC’s next smartphone will be the One X9, it sounds like the company will once again try to infuse premium features and technologies into an upper-mid-range smartphone boasting high-end build quality.

Feel free to take a look at some of the previously leaked pictures depicting the alleged One X9.

All in all, it looks like HTC isn’t in a rush to announce a new premium device, but once it will, rumor has it that it will be codenamed “Perfume” and will rock a Snapdragon 820 SoC, along with Android 6.1 and Sense 8.0.

As always, stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
