Social media apps have become a huge part of our lives. There is no doubt that all of us are a bit dependent on our accounts and our followers. With the emergence of social media apps, we have all grown accustomed to giving a part, or our entire private life out to friends and strangers on a small screen. For some that turned out good while for others not so much. With growing issues of hackers and simply bad people, most of us have, in one way or another, had problems with our social media accounts.
When troubles start most people end up with two options either trying to recover what has been lost or stolen or making a new account and starting all over again. What is even more interesting is that some people opt for leaving social media apps and shutting down accounts in total but they worry about what will happen to the data they uploaded up until then. Some say that when your account gets shut down all your data disappears but that isn’t true.
Now one of the social media apps that have blown up in recent periods is TikTok and today we will address backing up your videos on the app before you go and delete your account. You can also simply use qload.info and quickly and effectively do the job.
For some backing up your data from any type of application shouldn’t be that difficult.
What we need to understand is that not all have the same amount of knowledge when these things come into play which is why we are making this article. Most TikTok users know how to make and prepare a video, they can edit a bit and that is pretty much all. When it comes to your account settings all the straightforward settings are easy to set up and follow through. Backing up and securing your information is a bit difficult to find which is why we are going to help you.
If you thought, we are being silly by saying that data and account settings that are a bit complicated to find are something most users don’t touch just log on to every other social network or media and you will find 60 or 70% of accounts with all their data on display – PUBLICLY. This just goes to say that the average user doesn’t care about that and the level of their knowledge regarding these things is pretty basic.
Now for those that want to back up their data from social networks and media, or in this case if you want to back up your videos then there are two ways you can do this.
The first thing you can do is head on to the third-party sites that allow videos to be downloaded. You know those sites; they are clones of those that most of us use to get the YouTube vids. No these are easy to use and all you have to do is copy the link from the video you want to download to the place designated for that and click a huge big button that says “DOWNLOAD”.
The way to do this is rather tedious and long-lasting especially if your TikTok account has some history and if you have a lot of videos that have trended very well. Those are probably the ones you will want to save and back up somewhere safe, but what you will have to do is repeat the same process over and over again for every video. The second way you can safely back up your videos on TikTok is to use the app itself. The app is designed to offer you this service as a means of protecting you as their end-user. They have implemented this in the app and the way to reach it is this:
Go to the Me tab in the app or the place where you reach your account info. What you will see next is your profile summary with all the relevant data you need. The way to navigate to the account backup is you click the three little dots in the upper right corner of the app. Then you will see a new tab opened that will offer features like account management, privacy and safety, content preferences, balance, profile sharing and others. Here are placed some of the features this app offers where you can do some changes to make your account safer, private if you want, and where can you change a lot of content preferences as well as access your balance.
What you need to do next to make a backup of your videos is navigate to the privacy and safety page click it and then you will see the personalization and data tab. Click on it and it will lead you to the page that will offer you that holy grail called “copy of your TikTok data”. With this, you can easily make a backup of your data either on your phone, pc or an external drive where it will be safe. What is even more interesting is that with this setting you can instantly download all data tied to your profile, your activity on the app all of your settings, and all your videos.
This all can be done with just one click of the button below the explanation that says “Request data File”. One thing to keep in mind is that it can take up to 30 days to get your account data, and this is something that the TikTok app will warn you about at the top of that last page called “Download your Data”. This is important because you will have to think in advance if you want your profile data downloaded, meaning you will have to postpone the account deletion until you receive your data in full.
After you request your file you will receive a greeting message from TikTok saying thanks for requesting your data and you will receive a date on which you made that request. The next thing to do is simply wait out that up to 30 days and you are all set to do delete your account for any reason you may have.
