Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 1080p Home Theater Projector
Three great reasons why to buy
Already mentioned from the onset this projector provides high-definition 1080p resolution. To go along with the ultra-crisp images produced in high-definition, the Powerlite 3020 also provides rapid 2D to 3D conversion internally.
This means when you want to experience 3D images there’s no need to spend more money buying an outside adapter to convert two-dimensional content into three-dimensional content. The conversion is taken care of internally by this model.
Also, with this projector package you won’t need to search the web to find the right pair of glasses as are 2 pairs of RF 3D glasses are included.
The third outstanding feature of the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 model is the level of contrast the projector provides. When watching your favorite movie you want the dark colors to appear very dark and the light colors to appear very light. Right? This model has an insane contrast ratio of 40,000:1. This means the darkest color on the screen will appear 40,000 times darker than the lightest color on the screen.
Together, the combination of these three features: High-definition (1080p), outstanding contrast level and built in 2D to 3D conversion
Things to consider before buying
No matter how good a product seems at first glance there will always be some cons. These may pertain to the overall quality of the product, while others may be more specific to a certain individual person’s needs.
If you have followed along from the beginning of this review then so far you have read positive opinions on the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 3020 projector. This is without a doubt a quality home theater projector.
Let’s dig a little deeper to see if we can come up with any reasons why this might not be the right one for you:
When we do hear complaints about the Epson PowerLite 3020 home theater model they have been centered on noise and lamp life and replacement costs.
Is the projector loud
This is not a universal customer complaint or shared by the majority of people who have bought and reviewed this product but there are a few people remarking that the projector makes a lot of noise.
We have heard this noise compliant on many other projectors made
Lamp life and replacement bulbs
The lamp used in this model is the E-TORL™ 230 W UHE. The manufacturers specifications reads this lamp provides 4000 hours of lamp life when the projector is used in standard mode and 5000 hours of life in when used in economical mode.
There are two levels of complaints. Some customers have claimed the length of lamp life is less than the manufacture says and there are also people unhappy with the cost of a replacement bulb. As of right now, the listed price at Amazon for a replacement E-TORL™ 230 W UHE is $116.
Not that we think these are not real complaints that should considered before buying but the great majority of buyers do not mention these in their reviews of the projector.
